June 21st - Go Skateboarding Day

Go Skateboarding Day : A Global Celebration of Skate Culture

Every year on June 21st, skateboarders around the world come together to celebrate

“Go Skateboarding Day” — also known in Thailand as “World Skateboarding Day.”

It’s a special day dedicated to promoting skateboarding as more than just a sport

but also as a culture, a lifestyle, and an inclusive activity for all ages and genders.

The first Go Skateboarding Day was held in 2004

an initiative by the International Association of Skateboard Companies (IASC). The choice of June 21st was no coincidence — it’s the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, making it the perfect time for an all-day outdoor celebration of skateboarding.

In Thailand, Go Skateboarding Day has gained more traction in recent years — especially since skateboarding officially became an Olympic sport at Tokyo 2020. The local skate scene has grown rapidly, with more public skateparks, community-led skate events, and even Thai fashion brands drawing inspiration from street skating culture.
