Berra + Eric = Berrics

The Berrics

The Berrics: A Skateboarding Legacy

The Berrics was founded in 2007 by two legendary figures in the global skateboarding scene — Steve Berra and Eric Koston.

The name “The Berrics” comes from a clever combination of their names

Berra + Eric = Berrics.

The Berrics

From the very beginning, both founders had a clear vision: to create a private training ground for professional skateboarders in Los Angeles. But The Berrics was never meant to be just another skate park — it was designed from the ground up to be a space built for filming.Every detail — the lighting, surfaces, camera angles, and layout — was carefully crafted to make every trick look even more spectacular on video.

Beyond being a real, functioning skate park, The Berrics also evolved into a platform for high-quality skate content.Through its website and YouTube channel, they’ve been sharing videos almost daily — from raw footage and highlights to behind-the-scenes clips and interviews with some of the world’s most renowned skaters.

Battle at the Berrics (BATB)

While The Berrics is known for producing countless high-quality skate videos, the project that truly put their name on the global map is the Battle at the Berrics, or simply BATB.

The Format

BATB follows the classic Game of S.K.A.T.E. format — a head-to-head showdown between two skateboarders. Each skater takes turns performing a trick, and the opponent must replicate it.If they fail, they earn a letter: S, K, A, T, or E.The first to collect all five letters loses.

It might sound simple, but in reality, it’s packed with intense pressure and technical precision — the tricks performed at BATB are often some of the most difficult and stylish in the game.

What Makes BATB Special

BATB brings together top-tier skateboarders from around the world, from seasoned pros to rising stars — names like Nyjah Huston, Paul Rodriguez, Chris Cole, and Shane O’Neill have all stepped onto The Berrics floor.

Despite the competitive nature, the event is full of camaraderie, laughter, and mutual respect among skaters.

Over the years, BATB has evolved through multiple seasons, each with its own unique theme — from BATB X, which united skaters from different regions, to the BATB Female Edition, a groundbreaking season that gave female skaters the spotlight they deserve.

The Berrics

More Than Just a Skatepark

The Berrics has become far more than a skatepark — it’s a space dedicated to inspiration and the true spirit of skateboarding culture.

They’ve consistently supported the growth of new generations of skaters, offering them a platform to showcase their talent. The Berrics also collaborates with various brands to create campaigns that celebrate diversity, equality, and creativity within the community.

Because The Berrics isn’t just a training facility, not just a YouTube channel, and not just the host of competitions —

It’s the heartbeat of modern skateboarding culture.A place where creativity rolls on four wheels, where ordinary tricks can become legends, and where inspiration spreads to skaters all around the world — no matter which corner of the planet they call home.
